Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I hire a daily money manager?

Are you part of the “sandwich generation,” struggling to meet the needs of an active family as well as elderly parents?  This can be time-consuming as well as stressful; sometimes it is useful to have a “buffer” to help you and your loved ones manage conflicting expectations.  Jenny’s clients appreciate her professional expertise as well as her calm and tactful manner. She can shoulder the responsibility of managing their financial needs, giving you more time to focus on interacting with your loved ones, as well as attending to your own lives.

What is your process for paying bills?

Jenny works with her clients on a very individualized basis.  Some of her clients will collect bills in a portfolio, which she will pick up monthly and pay off-site.  She can then generate a report of what has been paid, along with a balance still owed, if applicable.  But Jenny has found that many of her elderly clients prefer to meet with her one-on-one in their home and work through this process together.  Typically there is a dedicated account for these expenditures.  Clients can request two signatures for each check, but sometimes only one is preferred.

I own and manage a business.  What are the advantages of outsourcing my bookkeeping needs?

If you manage a growing business, you regularly juggle a number of concerns. You can simplify your life, save time and money, and give yourself additional peace of mind by outsourcing your bookkeeping needs.  Jenny has more than 20 years of experience and is bonded and insured.

What program do you use in your work?

For almost all of her clients, Jenny uses Quickbooks.  This program interfaces with many other specialized financial management and POS (point of sale) systems.  It is easy to transfer files between them and to generate detailed financial reports.

What process would you use in managing my bookkeeping needs?

Jenny would interview you, assess your current system, then work with you to determine a scope of work and a process that would best meet your needs.  She can work on site if you prefer.  Or she could download your financial records onto a flash drive and work in her own office.  Sometimes she uses a combination of both methods.

How is your service time billed?

Jenny charges by the hour. In her initial consultation, she would be able to estimate for you how many billable hours would be required to complete your specific tasks.  She then carefully tracks her time and sends monthly invoices.  Her terms for payment are 30 days.
